On the other hand, the bushes present a so far unused wood biomass, which holds great opportunities for the Namibian labour market as well as for de-bushing efforts.
Within the framework of the project in the German Government and Federal States Programme (BLP) and its two BLP predecessor projects, the Saarland-based Leibnitz Institute for New Materials (INM) and the University of Namibia (UNAM) are working together. In the process, a method to produce a fireproof construction panel made from bush biomass was developed.
The aim of the current project is to process the previous research into a form suitable for use in an industrial setting.
